Our main areas of interest include industries that produce technical fabrics used, among many applications, for the structural reinforcement of buildings and infrastructures (FRP) and for composites.

Our coated yarns guarantee reinforcement and stabilization of the fabric, anti-fraying, ease of cutting; these, thanks to the choice of specific thermoplastic adhesives used as coating, guarantee that, after the heat-setting process, they provide strong adhesion with all types of technical fibers.

The thermoplastic adhesives we use are compatible with the most diverse resins used in subsequent impregnation processes, thermosetting such as polyester (UPR), epoxy, vinylester, phenolic or polyurethane.

As a core for our hot melt products we mainly use:

  1. HT Polyester

  2. Glass (e-glass)

  3. Stainless steel

The coating we suggest is a hot melt polymer that offers the best performance, namely our CoPA (co-polyamide), a low melt polyamide that is largely bio-based, confirming the green production philosophy that distinguishes us, together with the constant search for new biodegradable materials. This material offers high adhesion on a multitude of fibers such as glass, aramid, basalt, steel, polyester, polyamide and natural fibers.

Where necessary, variants in EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) or CoPES (co-polyester) are also available. At Coatyarn we are available for the study and creation of customized technical yarns.
